Robert Romaker has extensive experience in legal aid, currently serving as Managing Attorney at the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York since November 2009. In this role, Robert supervises housing attorneys, law graduates, and paralegals at the Albany office, overseeing daily operations and participating in the law clerk committee for recruitment at law schools. Previously, Robert held the position of Supervising Attorney, managing operations and staff in the Amsterdam and Albany offices, and served as a Homelessness Prevention Attorney focused on preventing evictions for low-income individuals. Prior to this, Robert was Managing Attorney and Staff Attorney at Southeastern Ohio Legal Services from November 1990 to October 2009. Robert holds a J.D. from The University of Toledo College of Law and a BA in Political Science and Spanish from The Ohio State University.

The Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York (LASNNY) fights for fairness, dignity, and justice for those living in poverty and for a society which is inclusive and equitable for all. We transform lives, build community and empower people by using the law to address individual and systemic wrongs and inequities. With offices in Albany, Saratoga, Amsterdam, Canton, and Plattsburgh, LASNNY provides free civil legal services to low-income individuals and families in the 16 counties of Northeastern New York, from the Catskills to the Canadian Border. Our current priorities are Support for Families, Preserving the Home, Maintaining Economic Stability, Maintaining Safety, Stability & Health, and Serving Populations with Special Vulnerabilities, Children’s Advocacy and Delivery of Legal Services.
