Joyce Fukata is an experienced human resources professional with a diverse background in various managerial roles. Currently serving as Human Resources Manager at the Legal Aid Society of Hawaii since February 2018, Joyce previously held positions such as Human Resources Generalist and Human Resources Specialist at Prince Waikiki. Prior to these roles, Joyce operated as House Operations Manager for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Hawaii, overseeing two facilities that support families with seriously ill children. Additional experience includes managing office operations at Waikiki Community Center and Shinwa Golf Resort Service Hawaii, as well as directing human resources at Park Shore Hotel. Joyce holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Japanese from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

The Legal Aid Society of Hawaii is a public interest, not-for-profit law firm whose mission is to achieve fairness and justice through legal advocacy, outreach and education for those in need. Established in 1950, Legal Aid has nine offices statewide, and over 80 staff members (attorneys, paralegals, and administrative personnel) all dedicated to achieving Legal Aid’s vision of “Building a Just Society.” Legal Aid provides free legal services to those who qualify. Legal areas include: Family Law, Public Benefits, Consumer Law, Fair Housing, Housing Law, Foreclosure Counseling, Tax Preparation, etc.. Legal Aid does NOT handle Criminal Law issues. Legal Aid also includes the Hawaii Immigrant Justice Center at Legal Aid (HIJC), serving the immigrant population with their legal needs. HIJC's mission is to advance the human rights of immigrants, including victims of domestic violence, international victims of human trafficking, and abandoned and abused children.
