David Wilkins

David Wilkins is an experienced legal professional specializing in immigration and LGBTQ/HIV+ advocacy. Currently, David serves as the Director of Immigration and LGBTQ/HIV+ Advocacy at Legal Services NYC, where supervision of a team of lawyers and a social worker facilitates immigration legal services for low-income Staten Islanders. Previously, David worked as an Asylum Officer at United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, adjudicating asylum applications and conducting pre-asylum screenings. Prior to that, David served as a Staff Attorney at Central American Legal Assistance, representing clients from Central and South America in their asylum applications and related legal matters before various immigration courts and appeals bodies. David's legal foundation is supported by a Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center and a Bachelor of Arts in English, Spanish, and Government from Georgetown University, along with additional education at Universidad de Sevilla.
