Since 1956 Legal Services of Northern California (LSNC) has provided quality legal services that empower the poor to identify and defeat the causes and effects of poverty. Legal Services of Northern California serves 23 counties in Northern California with nine office locations located in Sacramento, Auburn, Chico, Eureka, Grass Valley, Redding, Ukiah, Vallejo and Woodland. We also have the following special programs: Senior Legal Services Programs, Senior Legal Hotline (serving all of California), LSNC – Health, Tommy Clinkenbeard Legal Clinic (serving the homeless population in Sacramento), Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP), and Voluntary Legal Services Program (VLSP). LSNC’s substantive priorities are: Support for Families Preservation of Housing Enhancing Economic Stability Family Safety and Stability Health Care Civil Rights The organization has a multi-dimensional service delivery system which employs the efficiencies of telephone hotlines, self-help advocacy through counseling, clinics, pro se materials, and community legal education, in addition to direct representation both in court and at administrative hearings. LSNC engages in creative collaborations with other legal services programs, community organizations, and government agencies, including court-based in pro per assistance.
