Dr. Thomas Altenbach has a long and varied work experience, beginning in 2006 when they were Head of Legal M&A and CEO of Rütgers GmbH for Evonik AG. In 2008, they were promoted to Direktor at Daimler, where they designed a concept to manage Legal & Compliance risks, negotiated and concluded a settlement with US authorities, and prevented sanctions by other local prosecutors. In 2013, they became the Head of Financial Crime Compliance Region EMEA and Head of Litigation & Enforcement Germany at Deutsche Bank, where they managed 6 defense attorney teams and acted as the bank representative in the Kirch/Breuer criminal trial. Dr. Thomas also led negotiations and settlement with 15+ D&O insurers in the Kirch/Breuer case and steered internal investigations. In 2018, they joined GLG (Gerson Lehrman Group) as a Council Member. Dr. Thomas also became Partner at AC Tischendorf Rechtsanwaelte in 2019, and Aufsichtsrat/ Member Of The Supervisory Board at DLE Deutsche Landentwicklung in the same year. Finally, in 2019 they founded LegalTegrity, a digital whistleblowing solution for small and medium-sized companies.
Dr. Thomas Altenbach obtained their degree in Recht from The University of Bonn in 1988. In 2018, they obtained two additional certifications: Artificial Intelligence - Impact on Business Strategy from MIT Sloan Executive Education and Zertifiziertes Mitglied im Aufsichtsrat/Beirat from Board Academy.
