Stefano Ciafani has extensive experience in environmental leadership and scientific oversight, serving in various capacities at Legambiente since November 1999, including President, General Director, Vice President, and Head of the Scientific Office. In June 2023, Stefano became a board member of FREE - Coordinamento Fonti Rinnovabili ed Efficienza Energetica. In addition to these roles, Stefano has contributed to the Italian Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of the Environment on initiatives related to organized crime and waste management. Involved with the Italian Parliament as a consultant on waste cycle investigations and serving on scientific committees for environmental regulatory analysis, Stefano holds a degree in Environmental Engineering from Sapienza Università di Roma.
