James la Porta

James La Porta currently serves as a QC Manager at Legend Biotech, having previously held multiple roles at Sampled, including Senior Manager of Sample Extraction and Processing Services and Manager of Sample Processing Services. With extensive experience leading a DNA extraction team in the Nucleic Acid Services and Analytics department, James has a strong background in troubleshooting and high-throughput laboratory operations, specializing in nucleic acid extractions. Prior roles include Lab Technician at Rutgers University, contributing to research on the Epstein-Barr virus and the development of a qPCR protocol, along with a stint as a Substitute Teacher at Metuchen High School, where effective communication of complex scientific concepts was paramount. James holds an M.S. in Biomedical Science from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and a B.A. in Biology from Drew University.
