Joan Lykke Hansen has a diverse work experience spanning several years. Joan Lykke worked as the Park Operations Director at LEGOLAND Billund Resort in 2023. Prior to that, they worked at PostNord from 2019 to 2023, holding the position of Director of operational development in Parcel operation. Joan Lykke was responsible for the operational development, strategy implementation, and execution of the development plan. Before joining PostNord, Joan worked as a Personnel Manager at Skeidar Oslo, where they had overall P&L responsibility for a large furniture and interior store.

- In the same year, Joan also completed a Chef Uddannelse (Chef Education) at McDonald's.
- Joan's earliest education was at Grindsted handelsskole, where they studied, but no specific degree or field of study is mentioned, and it took place from 1992 to 1995.

Siden åbningen i 1968 har mere end 50 millioner børn og voksne besøgt parken i Billund. I 2005 blev LEGOLAND parkerne og Hotel LEGOLAND en del af Merlin Entertainments, som er Europas største og verdens næststørste foretagende inden for besøgsattraktioner. Udover seks LEGOLAND parker og 10 hoteller ejer og driver Merlin blandt andet også SEA LIFE, Madame Tussauds, The EDF Energy London Eye, Heide Park og LEGOLAND Discovery Centres. LEGOLAND og Hotel LEGOLAND er en speciel arbejdsplads på flere måder, men et af de mest fremtrædende træk er, at medarbejderne gerne bliver i mange år, og mange ”LEGOLÆNDERE” taler om en næsten familiær stemning kollegerne imellem. I LEGOLAND er legen og de yngste gæster i centrum, og både foran og bag facaden i LEGOLAND, er der en stærk kultur hvor smil, engagement og lysten til at yde vægter tungt. 250 faste medarbejdere arbejder i LEGOLAND året rundt, men i åbningssæsonen vokser antallet med over 1300 sæsonmedarbejdere, hvoraf mange er kendte ansigter fra tidligere sæsoner.
