Ricardo Castro

Ricardo Castro serves as the Department Chair and Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at Lehigh University since April 2023. Additionally, Ricardo has held the position of Professor in the same department since January 2023. As a prominent figure in the field, Ricardo has been the Editor in Chief for the International Journal of Ceramic Engineering and Science since October 2018 and is a Principal Editor for the Journal of Materials Research with the Materials Research Society since June 2018. Experience includes editorial roles at Cerâmica - Journal of the Brazilian Ceramic Society, Elsevier's Materials Letters, and Nature Scientific Reports. Previously, at the University of California, Davis, from 2005 to 2022, Ricardo contributed significantly as a Full Professor and Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Studies, while also engaging in innovative outreach activities. Further academic contributions were made as a Visiting Researcher at the Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials from July 2022 to July 2023.
