Matthias Premke-Kraus is an experienced leader in scientific management, currently serving as the Leitung Wissenschaftsmanagement at the Leibniz-Institut für Ostseeforschung Warnemünde since August 2023. Previously, Matthias held the position of Wissenschaftlicher Referent at the Leibniz-Gemeinschaft from January 2013 to August 2023, focusing on environmental sciences, sustainability, citizen science, and biodiversity. Additional experience includes roles as a wissenschaftlicher Koordinator in the Leibniz-Forschungsverbund Biodiversität at the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin and Leibniz Institut für Gewässerökologie und Binnenfischerei (IGB), as well as positions as a wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter at the Institut für Landschaftsökologie und Naturschutz and the Alfred Wegener Institute. Matthias holds a Doctorate in Geology and Earth Sciences from the University of Bremen and a Diplom-Biologe in Biology from Universität Greifswald.
