Bernhard Hube

Bernhard Hube serves as the Head of the Department of Microbial Pathogenicity Mechanisms at the Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology - Hans Knöll Institute since January 2007 and holds the position of Professor (W3) & Chair of Microbial Pathogenicity at Friedrich Schiller University Jena since November 2006. Hube's research primarily focuses on the molecular pathogenicity mechanisms related to infections caused by Candida albicans and other related fungi. Prior experience includes leadership roles at the Robert Koch Institute and lecturing at Freie Universität Berlin. Academic credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy in Microbiology from the University of Göttingen and various postdoctoral fellowships and assistant professorships at prestigious institutions, with a Diplom in Microbiology attained at the University of Göttingen.
