Juergen Popp is a prominent scientist with extensive experience in the field of physical chemistry. Currently serving as the Scientific Director at the Leibniz-Institut für Photonische Technologien since 2006, Popp also holds the position of Chair of Physical Chemistry at Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena, a role maintained since 2002. Prior to these appointments, Popp worked as a Research Associate at the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg from 1997 to 2002, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Applied Physics at Yale University in 1996. Popp's academic journey began with earning a Vordiplom in Chemistry from FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg between 1986 and 1989, followed by further studies at The Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg from 1989 to 1992.
