Gao Yang has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles.
Gao began their career as an intern software engineer at Deutsche Bank in 2004.
From 2010 to 2015, they worked at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, where they held positions as a Project Officer, Research Fellow, Centre Manager & Technology Specialist, and Instructor for Outreach Workshops.
During this time, they focused on fostering collaboration between academia and industry and was involved in various research and development projects, including the Rapid-Rich Object Search (ROSE) Lab.
In 2009, Gao Yang worked as a freelance photographer, providing services such as portraiture, event coverage, and photography/videography.
Since 2015, they have been employed at Leica Microsystems, initially as a Senior Imaging Engineer and currently as a Principal Imaging Engineer.
Their responsibilities at Leica Microsystems include algorithm research and development for digital microscope cameras, algorithm optimization and implementation using Verilog HDL, and quantitative evaluation of image sensors.
Gao Yang received a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Nanyang Technological University Singapore in 2006. Gao then pursued a Ph.D in Image and Video Processing (Engineering) at the same university from 2006 to 2011.
