Emily Preston

Emily Preston, PhD, currently serves as the Business Development Manager for Innovation Partnerships at Leica Biosystems, starting in July 2023. Prior experience includes a role as a Technology Analysis and Marketing Fellow at the National Cancer Institute from January 2022 to June 2023, where Emily initiated and managed relationships with stakeholders to foster partnerships and marketing initiatives, resulting in diverse communication strategies for NCI technologies. As a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Georgia from August 2016 to November 2021, Emily led a project characterizing natural architectural variation in the model organism Neurospora crassa and contributed to two first-author publications. Additional experiences encompass roles in technology transfer, entrepreneurship, and teaching across several academic institutions, backed by a PhD in Genetics from the University of Georgia and a BS in Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics from the University of Maryland.
