Kristel Schaap

Kristel Schaap is a medical research data management adviser at Leiden University Medical Center since April 2016, specializing in research data management and data stewardship, providing education, and designing medical research databases, including expertise in Castor EDC. Previous experience includes roles as a clinical data manager and database designer at UMC Utrecht, as well as a clinical data manager at Utrecht University, where research focused on occupational exposure to electromagnetic fields related to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and associated health effects. Kristel Schaap holds a degree in Psychology with a focus on Cognitive Psychology from Leiden University and has completed a PhD program in Toxicology and Environmental Health at Utrecht University, with coursework in environmental and occupational health, epidemiology, and exposure assessment. Research interests encompass occupational health, epidemiology, exposure assessment, MRI safety, and static magnetic fields.
