Tineke Coenen has extensive experience in the field of animal welfare and research. Tineke has held various roles and positions at different organizations over the years. Starting in 2007, Tineke worked as an Animal Welfare Officer at Farma Research Animal Health and later at ModiQuest B.V. In 2010, they founded Coenen Consultancy, where they served as a FELASA D specialist until 2019. From 2012 to 2016, Tineke also worked as the Managing Director of BioXpert, a company providing contract research and colony management services. Tineke's work experience also includes roles such as Chair of the Animal Ethical Committee at Wageningen University & Research, Chair Animal Ethical Committee at MSD, and Member of the Animal Ethical Committee at AMC. Tineke has also served as a consultant for AAALAC. Currently, Tineke is the Director of the Central Animal Facility at Leiden University Medical Center.
Tineke Coenen has a diverse education history. Tineke completed their MSc in Laboratory Animal Sciences at Utrecht University from 2004 to 2007. Prior to that, they obtained a BSc in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Tilburg University in 1992 and 1993. Additionally, they earned another BSc in Microbiology from Tilburg University between 1975 and 1977. Tineke also holds certifications, including AWO from the Ministry of VWS and Biological Safety Officer from the Ministry of VROM in the Netherlands.
