Dorien Zandbergen

Dorien Zandbergen is a Senior Researcher at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, focusing on urban coordination issues since August 2021. As a co-founder of Unfrequently Asked Questions, a qualitative research and innovation bureau, Zandbergen designs culturally sensitive and inclusive research methods. Zandbergen has been involved with Stichting Gr1p since March 2013, initiating and producing the documentary "Smart City. In Search of the Smart Citizen," while also founding the organization to enhance understanding of the digital society. Other positions include member/co-owner at Amsterdam Energie and a postdoc researcher at Leiden University, contributing to research on future visions in technoscientific innovation. Zandbergen has taught courses on the Anthropology of the Information Society and has held various research and teaching roles at departments and organizations like the University of Amsterdam, Centre for Urban Studies, and Waag Society. The academic background includes a Ph.D. in Digital Anthropology from Leiden University and a Master’s degree in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Amsterdam.
