Matthijs van Leeuwen

Matthijs van Leeuwen has extensive work experience in academia. Matthijs started their career at Utrecht University as a Ph.D. Student / Promovendus from September 2005 to November 2009. Matthijs then served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Utrecht University from December 2009 to August 2011. Following that, Matthijs worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at KU Leuven from September 2011 to August 2015. Since September 2015, they have been associated with Leiden University, where they held roles such as Senior Researcher from September 2015 to August 2016, Assistant Professor from September 2016 to March 2020, Associate Professor from March 2020 onwards, and Director of Education from September 2022 onwards.

Matthijs van Leeuwen completed their VWO degree at RSG Broklede from 1993 to 1999. Matthijs then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Computer Science at Utrecht University from 1999 to 2004. Following that, they furthered their education at Utrecht University from 2005 to 2010, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science.
