Rachèl van Hellemondt

Rachèl van Hellemondt has extensive work experience in various roles and organizations. Rachèl is currently the Head of the Scientific Staff at Gezondheidsraad, where they have been since 2015. Rachèl also serves as a Secretary/Health Jurist at Gezondheidsraad since 2015. In addition, they hold the position of Executive Director of Health Law at Universiteit Leiden since 2022. Rachèl is a legal member of Centrale Commissie Mensgebonden Onderzoek since 2022. Other roles they have held include being a Member of the Core Team/Coordinator of the Track Team at Gouden Spike (atletiek) since 2019 and a member of the Working Group Ethics and Law of the VKGN at Vereniging van Klinische Genetica Nederland since 2018. Rachèl served as the Chairperson of the Regional Complaints Committee Delft Westland Oostland starting in 2016. From 2015, they were a legal member at the Regional Disciplinary Board for Healthcare Professions. Rachèl has been a Board Member, including serving as Chairperson, at NACGG since 2011. Rachèl has also worked as a Guest Researcher in the Department of Medical Ethics, Philosophy, and History at Erasmus MC since 2019. Furthermore, they have been a Freelance Teacher of Health Law at Leiden University Medical Center since 2015. Rachèl has held various other roles at Leiden University Medical Center, including as a Researcher/PhD student, Lecturer, and member of the research group evaluating the right to self-determination in health legislation.
