Jacqueline (Jacqui) McKenzie is a prominent legal professional with extensive experience in immigration, asylum law, and advocacy for marginalized communities. Currently serving as Partner and Head of the Windrush, Immigration, and Asylum Team at Leigh Day since July 2021, McKenzie leads efforts on reparations related to Transatlantic enslavement and race discrimination cases. Previously, McKenzie was Director and Lawyer at McKenzie Beute and Pope and the Centre for Migration Advice and Research, where responsibilities included championing the rights of undocumented migrants and asylum seekers. Additional roles include Independent Advisor for the Windrush Lessons Learned Review, Chief Executive and Lawyer at the Female Prisoners Welfare Association, and various positions focused on community development and legal advocacy in the London Borough of Hackney and UK Civil Service. McKenzie also has experience as a lecturer in International and Human Rights Law.
