W. Pat Leinert Sr. began their career in 1983 as a Chemist Proteins at Sigma-Aldrich. In this role, they were responsible for the purification of a large portfolio of enzymes and related proteins using a wide variety of chromatography techniques. In 1991, they moved to Life Technologies Now part of Thermo Fisher as Manager of Analytical Cytology Projects. In this role, they developed the first highly efficient FRET dyes, including PE-Texas Red (Red613), Red650 and PE-Cy5 (Red670) for use in flow cytometry for multicolor analysis on single cells. In 1992, they founded Leinco Technologies, a biotechnology company specializing in early discovery research products, custom R&D and manufacturing services. As President and CEO, they established the company as a premier provider of In vivo functional grade monoclonal antibodies and recombinant proteins.
