Renzo Giovanni Avesani

Renzo Giovanni Avesani currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Leithà, a position held since January 2017, and as the Chief Innovation Officer at Gruppo Unipol since July 2018. Prior to these roles, Avesani was the Chief Risk Officer at Unipol Gruppo Finanziario from October 2006 to July 2018, overseeing Risk Management, ALM, and Credit policies for the Group's insurance companies and bank. Avesani also worked as a Senior Economist at the International Monetary Fund from March 2004 to September 2006, where contributions included developing frameworks for credit risk analysis and participating in FSAP exercises across multiple continents. Earlier experience includes serving as Head of Risk Management at Banca Intesa from November 1996 to February 2004. Avesani earned a Ph.D. in International Finance from New York University between 1984 and 1991.
