Robert Smith

Vice President Innovation Product Development at Lemnature AquaFarms

Robert Smith has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Robert began their career as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1990. Robert then worked as a Research Assistant Professor at Rutgers University AgBiotech Center from 1995 to 1997. Following this, they held the position of Project Leader at Dekalb Genetics from 1997 to 1999. In 1999, they joined PhycoGen Inc as the Director of Research & Development. Robert then went on to work at Global Protein Products Inc. as the VP of Research & Development from 2003 to 2007. From 2007 to 2010, they served as the Director of Business Development at HerbalScience Group. In 2012, they joined RiceBran Technologies (formerly NutraCea) as the Senior Vice President of Business Development, a role they held until December 2018. During their time at RiceBran Technologies, they also served as the CEO from September 2016 to September 2018. In 2019, they became the Principal at Sheldon Botanicals LLC. Currently, they are the Vice President of Innovation & Product Development at Lemnature AquaFarms, starting from March 2021.

Robert Smith holds a PhD in Molecular Genetics and Cell Biology from the University of Chicago. Prior to this, they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the same institution.
