Heather A. Mooney

Heather A. Mooney is an Assistant Professor in the Anthropology, Criminology, and Sociology Department at Le Moyne College, where the focus is on engaging and inspiring undergraduates through interdisciplinary content and rigorous sociological methods. Previously, Heather served as an Assistant Professor and Program Director at Cazenovia College, developing university-level courses in Human Services and Social and Behavioral Sciences. As a PhD candidate in Sociology at Boston University, attention centered on race, gender, and emotion in relation to crime and deviance. Experience includes roles at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as an Education Assistant, RIA House as a Research Assistant, and Pathways for Change, Inc. as a Teen Services Provider, among others. Educational background comprises a PhD and MA in Sociology from Boston University, an MA in Gender Studies from Simmons University, and a BA in Sociology, Women's and Gender Studies, and English from Clark University.
