Richard E. Austin LL.B., MBA, ICD.D has a wealth of experience in the legal and financial services industry. In 2020, they became a Board Member of the Credit Counseling Society. In 2019, they joined the Board of the Ontario Clean Water Agency. From 2017 to 2019, they were the General Counsel of Lending Loop, a peer-to-peer lending platform. From 2015 to 2017, they were the Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Mackie Research Capital Corporation. From 2014 to 2015, they were Senior Legal Counsel at AUM Law Professional Corporation. From 2012 to 2014, they were the Principal of Richard Austin Consulting. From 2008 to present, they have been an Adjudicator for the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada. In 2022, they will join the Board of the Condominium Authority of Ontario and the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants, as well as the Board of the Pan-African Credit Union Initiative.

Richard E. Austin LL.B., MBA, ICD.D has an extensive educational background. In 1974, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Economics from the University of Toronto. From 1978 to 1981, they obtained their LL.B. from the University of Windsor. In 1981, they earned their MBA in Finance and Accounting from York University. Most recently, in 2020-2021, they completed their ICD.D from the Institute of Corporate Directors/Rotman School of Business in Corporate Governance.
