Scott Northrup is an experienced professional in high-performance computing (HPC) and engineering, currently serving as HPC Principal Consultant at Lenovo since August 2023. Previously, Scott was a Senior HPC Solutions Architect at the Digital Research Alliance of Canada from November 2021 to August 2023, where architectural leadership and best practices for HPC were provided. Scott also held the position of CTO - Hardware & Operations at SciNet High Performance Computing Consortium from May 2009 to November 2021, overseeing HPC asset acquisition and operations at Canada's largest supercomputing center. Scott's earlier experience includes roles as HPC Computational Science Specialist at SciNet, System Administrator for the CFD Group at the University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies, and positions in combustion analysis and research at Pratt & Whitney Canada and Defence Research Development Canada. Scott holds a PhD and MASc in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Toronto and dual degrees in Applied Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering from Western University.
