Thomas Grubinger

Thomas Grubinger has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of data science. Thomas is currently working at Lenzing Group as a Data Science Team Lead, responsible for leading a team of data scientists and setting data science standards and strategies. Prior to this, they worked at Smarter Ecommerce (smec) as a Team Lead and Lead Data Scientist, where they built and led a successful team and played a crucial role in research and product development. Before that, they worked at Software Competence Center Hagenberg GmbH as a Senior Data Scientist and Researcher, where they completed various projects in the field of data science for leading industrial companies. Thomas also has experience working at Siemens as a Level 2 Development Engineer, focusing on regulation and control models, and at Medizinische Universität Innsbruck as a Research Associate, specializing in machine learning, data mining, and statistics.

Thomas Grubinger has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Informatics from Universität Innsbruck, which they obtained from 2008 to 2012. Prior to that, they earned a Master's degree in Intelligent Systems from Halmstad University from 2006 to 2008. Thomas also holds a Master's degree in Information Technology from Fachhochschule Salzburg, which they obtained from 2003 to 2008. In addition, they studied Computer Science at Thompson Rivers University from 2005 to 2006. Recently, Thomas Grubinger also obtained a certification as a Scrum Master from SCRUMstudy - Accreditation Body for Scrum and Agile in October 2021.
