James Babington

James Babington is a seasoned professional in the field of optics, currently serving as Lead Optical Specialist at Leonardo since June 2022. Prior to this role, James gained experience as an Optical Design and Research Specialist at Thales Defense & Security, Inc. from October 2019 to June 2022, and as an Optical Designer at Qioptiq between January 2012 and October 2019. James began an academic career as a Post Doctoral Researcher at the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics from 2004 to 2006 and further contributed as a Research Fellow with the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation from 2003 to 2004. James holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from the University of Southampton, supplemented by education at the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge.
