Dr. Thomas Komenda started their work experience in 2004 as a PHD student at Kyoto University. In 2006, they worked as an Automotive Developer before being promoted to the role of Product Group Manager for R&D Automotive from 2006 to 2008. Dr. Thomas then became the Group Head of R&D Automotive from 2008 to 2012. From 2012 to 2018, they took on the role of Head of Principle Development at LEONHARD KURZ Stiftung & Co.KG. Currently, they are serving as the Head of Business Area Plastic Decoration Innovation + R&D at the same company, starting from February 2018.

Dr. Thomas Komenda completed their Abitur degree at Maria Theresia Gymnasium München in 1993. Subsequently, they pursued their higher education at the Technical University of Munich, where they earned a Ph.D. (Doktor) in Polymer-Chemie in the years spanning from 1994 to 2004.
