Gregg A. Paradise

Partner at Lerner David

Gregg Paradise provides solutions. He listens to a client’s needs, understands their business realities, and crafts a strategy designed to achieve the client’s goals. Sometimes that requires aggressive negotiation, sometimes litigation, and sometimes just thoughtful counseling. Gregg is as comfortable in the court room as the board room, taking whichever path will most efficiently and effectively secure the “win” for the client.

Gregg understands that every client and every situation is different. His over 20 years of legal experience working with clients as diverse as international electronics giants, national retailers, luxury brands, cutting edge gaming companies, financial institutions, and a famous local hot dog restaurant, have provided Gregg with the breadth of knowledge to understand all sides of an issue. And his experience in various different legal forums – from federal court, to Patent and Trademark Office administrative proceedings, to alternative dispute resolution – give him the knowledge to carefully consider and weigh each to select the best one for the particular situation.

Gregg has gained great respect among fellow attorneys throughout the U.S. and the World. With both clients and opponents, he takes a direct, honest, and thoughtful approach. While he is always the consummate zealous advocate for his clients, he never forgets the ethical standards of the profession. He fights hard, but plays fair. In fact, on several occasions, former adversaries have either hired Gregg, or referred colleagues to him, due to their high opinion of his legal skill and professionalism.

This respect, from both clients and peers, has led Gregg to be included in the World Trademark Review listing of the World’s Leading Trademark Professionals. As one of only eight individual attorneys selected from the State of New Jersey, Gregg was “singled out for his strong market focus and strategic nous.” Gregg has also achieved a Martindale-Hubbell AV® Preeminent™ 5.0 out of 5.0 Peer Review Rating.

Gregg’s technical background in computer science engineering helps him to understand and discuss complex technical aspects of his clients’ businesses. Understanding the innovations that drive each business helps to inform the strategies for success. However, his client roster is much more varied than just computers and electronics. Gregg has counseled clients in many diverse fields including pharmaceuticals, nutritional supplements, electronics, computer games, retail consumer goods, cosmetics, consumer foods, animal health care, clothing and footwear, rug and carpet design, and insurance and financial services. And he has advised these companies on myriad intellectual property matters including corporate mergers and acquisitions, corporate naming and branding projects, and trademark and counterfeiting matters including seizures, preliminary injunctions, and coordination with federal and local law enforcement agencies.
