Jonathan Wheway has worked in a variety of roles since 2001. Jonathan began their career as a Service Engineer at Stage Electrics in 2001. In 2002, they moved to Avocet Engineering Services Ltd as an Audio Visual Engineer, where they were responsible for designing, building, and managing installations of audio visual and lighting systems. In 2007, they joined Mendip Coin Co as a Field Service Engineer, where they used diagnostic systems to fault find and repair electronic machines. From 2015 to 2021, Jonathan worked as a Service Engineer at JNC Sales Ltd, where they were responsible for fault finding and restoration of coin operated equipment. In 2018, they joined Wogan Coffee as a Field Service Engineer. In 2020, they began freelancing as a Software Developer for Jonwhewaycode, where they worked with Flask 1.1.2 and Python 3. In 2021, they began working as a Software Engineer for The Baggy Soap Company, where they developed Django 2.0 using Python 3 and Postgres. Jonathan also works as a Maintenance Manager and Site Engineer for LettUs Grow, where they are responsible for writing control software for vertical testbeds, designing and building Vertical AeroStack farms, installing DROP & GROW, and maintaining vertical farms inhouse and on customer sites.
Jonathan Wheway attended Bridgwater College from 1998 to 2000, studying Audiovisual Communications Technologies/Technicians. In 2020, they enrolled in Code Institute to pursue a Full Stack Web Development degree. Jonathan has also obtained two certifications from Code Institute: a Full Stack Diploma in Software Development in July 2020, and a Diploma in Tech Fundamentals in April 2020. Jonathan attended Shapwick School prior to Bridgwater College.
