Nelson Boyd has a long and varied work experience. Nelson began their career in 2005 as a Crew Trainer at McDonald's Corporation. In 2007, they moved on to The HomeTown Review as a Sales Associate, where they were responsible for public relations and promotions. In 2011, they joined Bimbo Bakeries USA as a Production Manager, Change Architect, and Project Manager. Nelson also held the role of Production Supervisor, gaining experience in areas such as sanitation, production, receiving, team leading, process excellence, and shipping. In 2020, they joined Lewis Bakeries as VP Environmental and Safety and Plant Manager.

Nelson then attended State University of New York College of Agriculture and Technology at Morrisville and obtained an Associate of Science in Business Administration in 2009. Nelson also attended State University of New York College at Oswego and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2011. In 2010, they obtained a Credit towards BS in Science - Business Administration from The University of Auckland in International Business. From 2012 to 2014, they attended AIB International and studied Science of Baking. Nelson also obtained a Certified Baking Technologist, CBT. from AIB International in 2014. In 2018, they obtained a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (ICBB) from the Management and Strategy Institute. Lastly, they obtained an OSHA 10-Hour Certification from the US DEPARTMENT OF LABOR OSHA in 2022.
