Mary McKinney

Mary McKinney, M.Ed., PHR, has over two decades of extensive experience in human resources, currently serving as the Executive Director of Human Resources at Lexicon Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since July 2001. In this role, Mary provides strategic and tactical HR advisory across various domains including talent strategy, talent acquisition, employee relations, and performance management for a fully integrated pharmaceutical company. Prior positions at Lexicon include Senior Director and Director of Human Resources, where responsibilities encompassed similar HR functions for a workforce of over 500 employees. Earlier experience includes serving as Recruiting Manager at Genometrix and as a Recruiting Consultant at Hewitt Associates, where Mary developed successful recruiting strategies that significantly increased headcount. Mary holds multiple degrees in psychology and counseling from James Madison University and George Mason University, including a Master of Education in Counseling Psychology.
