Daphne Raad

Daphne Raad is a dedicated researcher and medical professional currently serving as a PhD candidate at Leyden Academy on Vitality and Ageing since March 2023. Previously, Daphne undertook an internship at Women on Waves, focusing on a philosophical essay regarding mifepristone availability and analyzing over 1000 survey results on contraceptive satisfaction. Daphne has also held leadership roles, including project chair at Stichting Medical Business, where the focus was on preventative care methods in hospitals, and as secretary at Stichting Student en Leefstijl, promoting knowledge about nutrition and lifestyle among medical students. Early experience includes working at Leiden University Medical Center as a medical secretary and research assistant, contributing to studies on congenital heart defects, and gaining clinical exposure through an internship at the University of Pretoria's Surgery department. Daphne’s academic credentials include a Master's degree in Medicine from Leiden University and participation in an honours program, supplemented by a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine from the same institution.
