Anna Beukenhorst

Anna Beukenhorst has extensive work experience in various scientific and research-related roles. Anna is currently working at Leyden Labs, where they hold the positions of Director of Scientific Data and previously served as the Head of Scientific Data. Anna also worked as a Strategic Lead at the company from June 2021 to June 2022.

Prior to Leyden Labs, Anna worked as a Visiting Scientist at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health starting from July 2019. During their time there, they focused on developing methods for 'digital phenotyping' and analyzing smartphone data for healthcare research.

Anna Beukenhorst also has experience from The University of Manchester, where they served as an Honorary Research Associate. Anna completed their PhD in Data Science & Healthcare Informatics, focusing on utilizing data from consumer smartphones and smartwatches for healthcare research.

Additionally, Anna gained experience at Philips, where they worked on their master's thesis project related to Collaborative Reasoning Engine & Application Models.

In their earlier career, Anna held positions such as a course coordinator and assistant at the University of Amsterdam, a chemistry teacher at Stichting Studiebegeleiding Leiden, and a freelance columnist/reporter/interviewer at HDC Media (TMG).

Throughout their career, Anna Beukenhorst has demonstrated a diverse range of skills and expertise in scientific research, data analysis, and healthcare informatics.

Anna Beukenhorst's education history includes various degrees and programs. Anna completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Data Science, Epidemiology & Healthcare Informatics from The University of Manchester in 2020. Before that, they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in Medical Informatics from the University of Amsterdam in 2016. Anna also attended a summer school program in data science, visualization, and analytics at LINK Datascience / SAS Institute / GoDatadriven in the same year. In 2016, Anna participated in a masterclass in Health Informatics at the University of Utah. Anna has a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree from the University of Amsterdam, majoring in Bèta-Gamma with a focus on biology, completed in 2013. Additionally, Anna has completed several international summer school programs, including the Netherlands-Asia Honours Summer School in 2012, with a focus on engineering and technology management, and an International Summer School at The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2012, exploring mainstream Chinese philosophical thought and engineering technology management.
