Dinko Valerio

Co-Founder & Executive Chairman at Leyden Labs

Dinko Valerio is an accomplished biopharmaceutical executive with extensive experience in both founding and leading organizations in the biotechnology sector. Currently serving as the Co-founder and Executive Chairman of Leyden Labs since 2020, Valerio also holds the position of Co-founder and Chairman of the Board at ProQR Therapeutics since 2012. Previously, Valerio was the Co-founder and managing partner at AESCAP Venture from 2006 to 2016 and founded Crucell, a Dutch biopharmaceutical company specializing in vaccines, which was later acquired by Johnson & Johnson. Valerio’s academic contributions include serving as a Professor of Gene Therapy at Leiden University Medical Center from 1992 to 2000 and earlier roles in gene therapy research at TNO Radiobiological Institute and the Salk Institute. Valerio earned a PhD with honors from Leiden University in 1986.
