Justin Crawford, PhD

Justin Crawford, PhD has extensive experience in the field of scientific research and assay development. Justin is currently working as a Senior Scientist in Immunology and Assay Development at Leyden Labs. In their previous role at Galapagos, they served as a Senior Scientist in Target Discovery and Validation for Fibrosis, where they successfully progressed four targets from discovery into drug development projects. Justin also worked as a Scientist in Target Discovery and Validation for Fibrosis and New Cellular Technologies at Galapagos, where they developed and executed high-throughput assays to identify and validate disease-modifying targets.

Prior to their work at Galapagos, Justin gained research experience as a Research Technician at the Cell and Molecular Biology Laboratory of the Roth|McFarlane Hand and Upper Limb Center. Justin also worked as a Graduate Student and Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Western Ontario, where they conducted research and assisted in teaching undergraduate courses. Additionally, Justin worked as a CIHR Summer Student and an Undergraduate Student Researcher, contributing to scientific projects at the Cell and Molecular Biology Laboratory and the University of Western Ontario, respectively.

Justin Crawford, PhD received their Bachelor of Medical Sciences (BMSc) degree in Clinical Biochemistry from Western University, where they studied from 2005 to 2009. Subsequently, they pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biochemistry at the same institution, completing their studies from 2009 to 2014.
