Sungkwon Kang

Investment Director at LG Technology Ventures

Sungkwon Kang has held a variety of roles since 2005. Sungkwon began as a Co-op Project Engineer at Georgia-Pacific LLC, then moved on to become an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Virginia Tech. In 2007, they were a Graduate Research Assistant at Cornell University, and in 2008 they were a Clinical Research Assistant at Weill Cornell Medical College. In 2012, they became a Manager at LG Chem, and in 2016 they joined The Boston Consulting Group as a Consultant. Since 2018, they have been a Director at LG Corp., and in 2021 they moved to LG Technology Ventures as a Director.

Sungkwon Kang obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Computational Mathematics from Virginia Tech between 2002 and 2007. Sungkwon then went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biomedical Engineering from Cornell University between 2007 and 2011. Kang has also obtained several certifications from Global Corporate Venturing, including GCV Rising Stars 2022 in February 2022, CVC Essentials: Investment Programs in November 2021, Landing the Value of Corporate Venturing in October 2021, and CV Essentials: Parent Partnering (CEPP) in July 2021.
