Hamit Afiyet

Hamit Afiyet, EIT, currently serves as Group Leader - Engineering at LG&E and KU Energy LLC, specializing in Generation Engineering since June 2023. Prior experience includes a role as Mechanical Engineer at LGE-KU PPL Companies from January 2013 to June 2023, where Hamit developed skills in the power generation industry, focusing on process and power piping. Hamit also worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Jacobs Engineering Group from January 2012 to January 2013, conducting pipe stress analysis and ensuring compliance with piping code requirements under B31.3. Hamit’s educational background includes a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Mechanical Engineering, both obtained from the University of Louisville, along with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution.
