Wally Perez

Wally Perez has a diverse work experience in the fields of digital marketing, copywriting, and communications. Wally currently works as a Digital Marketing Manager (Community Engagement) at AMD, where they started in August 2022. Prior to this, Wally worked as a Freelance Copywriter at Pathway Studios since February 2019.

Wally also gained experience at Khoros, where they held the positions of Associate Strategist from April 2022 to August 2022 and Social Media Coordinator from July 2020 to April 2022.

Before working at Khoros, Wally was a Creative Specialist at GoDaddy from December 2019 to June 2020. In this role, they crafted and posted original content for local businesses on social media platforms and managed their online reputation. Wally collaborated with teammates across different departments, implemented customer feedback, and helped develop best practices.

Wally also worked as a Communications Consultant at Palo Alto College from June 2019 to August 2019, where they developed content ideas, story angles, and supported media relations. Wally played a significant role in driving story and content development for the institution.

Prior to these roles, Wally gained experience as a Music Journalist at KTSW-FM 89.9 from January 2019 to May 2019, a Reporting Intern at Folo Media from June 2017 to August 2017, a Feature Writer Intern at The Tacoist from February 2017 to May 2017, and a Reporter and Illustrator at The Ranger Newspaper from January 2017 to May 2017.

Wally's earlier experiences at The Ranger include serving as the Editor in Chief from June 2016 to December 2016 and the Features Editor from January 2016 to May 2016.

Wally Perez's education history includes a Bachelor's of Science degree in Journalism, obtained from Texas State University between 2017 and 2019. Prior to that, they earned an Associate of Arts - AA degree in Journalism from San Antonio College, where they studied from 2015 to 2017. Alongside their formal education, Wally has also obtained additional certifications, such as "Avoiding Phishing Scams" from LinkedIn in October 2021 and "Facebook Certified Community Manager" from Facebook in February 2021.
