Cedric Francois has a long and varied work experience, beginning with their role as a Singer Songwriter at Stereo Zenith in 1972. Cedric then went on to become an Adjunct Professor at the University of Louisville in 2004. In 2010, they became the Director of Kentucky BioAlliance, and also Co-Founder and CEO of Apellis Pharmaceuticals. In 2012, they took on the roles of Director for NxPharmaGen and Kentucky Opera, and Co-Founder and Director of Liberate Medical, LLC and Revon Systems, LLC. In 2018, they became the Director of the Biotechnology Innovation Organization and the Louisville Healthcare CEO Council.
Cedric Francois completed their high school education at Sint Jozefscollege Turnhout from 1985 to 1991. Cedric then attended KU Leuven from 1991 to 1998, where they earned a Medical Doctor degree in Medicine. Cedric continued their education at the University of Louisville School of Medicine from 2001 to 2004, where they earned a PhD in Physiology.
