Sima Semmel Lcsw

Sima Semmel, LCSW has extensive experience in the field of social work. From 2006 to 2012, they served as the Mental Health Director at B'Above Head Start and Early Head Start, where they oversaw 16 Head Start programs in Queens and Brooklyn. During their time there, they conducted Mental Health Assessments for all the children and created individualized plans based on the assessments. Sima also collaborated with teachers and parents to develop behavioral plans for children with behavioral difficulties and provided support to families through the IEP processes.

In 2012, Sima joined Libertana Home Health as the Director of Social Services for the Partners for Children program. This program focuses on providing pediatric palliative home care for children with chronic, life-limiting, and complex medical illnesses. Sima played a crucial role in managing the program, which was funded by Medi-cal. Their responsibilities included overseeing the program, implementing innovative services, and improving the quality of life for both the child and their family.

In 2018, Sima was promoted to the position of Director of Clinical Services at Libertana Home Health. In this role, they continued to lead the Partners for Children program while taking on additional responsibilities related to clinical services.

Sima Semmel, LCSW obtained their Master's in Social Work (MSW) from Yeshiva University's Wurzweiler School of Social Work, where they completed their studies from 2002-2004. Following this, they pursued an Advanced Social Work Practices in Palliative Care program at California State University San Marcos.
