Erik Nilsen

Erik Nilsen has extensive work experience in the banking and financial services industry. Erik currently holds the position of SVP Strategic Partnerships at Liberty Bank - CT since 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Vice President at Bottomline Technologies from 2021 to 2023, where they led the Small Business Segment, setting strategic directions, developing key business products, and implementing pricing strategies. From 2011 to 2021, Erik was the Vice President of Product Management at Fiserv: Open Solutions Division, where they managed enterprise software solutions for financial institutions. Before that, they held various roles at Webster Bank, including Vice President of Marketing & Product Management, focusing on small business strategies and digital programs. Erik also worked at Fleet Bank, where they held positions such as VP- Ebusiness and Deposit Product Manager, managing online banking initiatives and developing acquisition programs for small businesses. Erik started their career as a Registered Investment Representative for John Hancock, specializing in life insurance, mutual fund, and annuity sales.

Erik Nilsen completed the Executive Education-Business Mastery Program at the University of Connecticut School of Business from 2004 to 2006. Prior to that, they attained a Masters degree in Retail Bank Management from the Consumer Bankers Association Graduate School at the University of Virginia between 1999 and 2001. In 1991, Erik obtained an MS degree in Marketing from Bryant University. Erik also holds a Level 6 certification in Pragmatic Marketing from Fiserv.
