Roopa Rao, PMP®

Roopa Rao, PMP®, has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Roopa is currently employed at Liberty Defense as a Program Manager, a position they started in December 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Product Test Engineer at the same company starting in June 2021.

Before joining Liberty Defense, Roopa worked at ZF Group from 2017 to 2021. Their roles at ZF Group included EMC Engineer III and EMC Engineer II. As an EMC Engineer III, they were responsible for optimizing EMC performance during the testing and validation of ADAS camera, airbag control, and satellite sensors. Roopa also created and approved EMC test plans/procedures for major customers such as GM, Nissan, Toyota, and Hyundai, as well as international specifications like ISO, CISPR, ECE, and MIL std.

Earlier in their career, Roopa worked at Bosch India as an Assistant Manager-Common rail fuel injection system from 2011 to 2015. In this role, they constructed prototype hardware for customers and developed diagnostic and monitoring hardware units for Common Rail Diesel Fuel injection systems. Roopa also tested new products on vehicles and conducted necessary measurements using various data acquisition devices.

Roopa Rao, PMP®, holds a Master's degree in Electrical & Computer Science from Wayne State University, which they earned from 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bangalore University, Bangalore, from 2007 to 2011. In addition to their academic qualifications, Roopa also obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification from the Project Management Institute in October 2021.
