James Ryan

James Ryan is the Senior Vice President & Chief Strategy Officer at Liberty Global. James has over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications, media, and technology (TMT) industries.

Ryan started their career as an analyst at MMG Patricoff in 1990 and then moved to Bain & Company where they worked as an associate consultant for three years. In 1992, they joined the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development as a principal banker and spent five years there. Ryan then moved to Deutsche Bank in 1997, where they worked on the ECM team focussing on TMT. In 1999, they joined PwC as part of the newly created Privatisation team in the TMT practice. James spent one year at PwC before moving to Liberty Global, where they have been working for the past 18 years.

James Ryan's educational career includes studying PPE at the University of Oxford and Repton School.
