Chakshu Gupta

Chakshu Gupta, MD, MBA has a strong and diverse work experience in the medical field. Chakshu is currently serving as the Chief Medical Officer at Liberty Hospital since January 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Laboratory Medical Director at Liberty Hospital from February 2016 until their promotion. Chakshu also served as an Advisory Board member at ViewsIQ, Inc. starting in January 2015.

Earlier in their career, Dr. Gupta held the position of Laboratory Medical Director at St. Francis Hospital & Health Services starting in November 2013. Chakshu also worked as a Business Advisor at American Paper Products, Inc. from April 2014 until December 2018. Additionally, they served as an Associate Medical Director at Liberty Hospital from August 2014 to February 2016.

Before joining Liberty Hospital, Dr. Gupta had several roles at North Kansas City Hospital including Medical Director of Point of Care Services and section head of Clinical Chemistry from December 2013 to January 2015. Chakshu also held the position of Laboratory Medical Director at St. Francis Hospital from May 2009 until October 2012 and worked as an Associate Media Director at the same institution from March 2005 to April 2009.

Earlier in their career, Dr. Gupta served as a Pathologist & Section Director at Heartland Regional Medical Center from March 2005 to October 2012. Chakshu also held the position of Chief Resident at St. John Hospital and Medical Center from July 2003 to June 2004. With their extensive experience and expertise, Dr. Gupta has made significant contributions in various leadership and advisory roles throughout their career.

Chakshu Gupta, MD, MBA has a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from the University College of Medical Sciences, earned between 1992 and 1997. Gupta also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management from Benedictine College. Additionally, they have completed a Cytopathology fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital and have studied Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine at the American Red Cross River Valley Region and the University of Louisville. They have also studied Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at St. John Hospital and Medical Center.
