Javier Enrique Caycedo Medina

Javier Enrique Caycedo Medina, M.S.Fin. has a diverse work experience at Liberty University. From there, they transitioned to the position of Operations Assistant in the International Student Center from August 2019 to October 2020. Javier's career then took a shift towards diversity and inclusion roles. Javier Enrique became the Assistant Director of Diversity Retention, Outreach, and Engagement in the Office of Equity and Inclusion from August 2021 to May 2023. In this role, they provided programming, educational, and administrative support to multiple diversity and inclusion initiatives. Javier then took on the role of Senior Diversity Recruitment Specialist from December 2022 to July 2023, where they researched and executed strategies to recruit diverse and underrepresented students.

Currently, Javier holds the position of Associate Director of Diversity Retention & Student Success at Liberty University. In this role, they are responsible for strategic leadership and oversight of diversity retention efforts, including coordinating campus programs and support services. Javier Enrique also creates strategies to improve the retention and success of underserved student populations while acting as a liaison between academic and administrative units.

Throughout their career, Javier has demonstrated a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education. Their experience includes building relationships, analyzing data, conducting research, and implementing initiatives to support a more diverse and inclusive campus community.

Javier Enrique Caycedo Medina, M.S.Fin. holds a Doctor's Degree in Strategic Leadership from Liberty University, which was obtained from 2023 to 2025. Javier Enrique also possesses a Master's degree in Financial Planning from the same institution, completed between 2020 and 2022. Prior to their master's degree, Javier earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance, General from Liberty University, spanning from 2015 to 2019.

In addition to their academic achievements, Javier has obtained several certifications. Javier Enrique holds a Certificate of Distinction and is a Certified Personal Trainer, both from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) in 2024. Javier Enrique also obtained a Certified Group Fitness Instructor certification from the Athletics and Fitness Association of America - AFAA in 2022. Furthermore, they have acquired certifications such as F1 Advising: Getting Started Onsite Hybrid from NAFSA: Association of International Educators in 2020, VITA/TCE Certification from the Internal Revenue Service in 2020, Developing a Service Mindset from the Project Management Institute in 2019, and a Personal Trainer Certification, also from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) in January 2024.
