Nina Harrison

In 2019 Nina left her hometown of Kaitaia to pursue a career in nursing. By mid-2020 she had graduated from Manukau Institute of Technology with a diploma of Enrolled Nursing. Initially she began working with the Māori Health team at Middlemore Hospital before she recognized her increased interest in mental health and neurobehavioral nursing. For nearly 2 years she has chased that passion by working with clients experiencing substance induced mental illnesses as well as clients experiencing cognitive changes following Traumatic Brain Injuries. In 2022, she began a position as an Enrolled Nurse Assessor for Life Plus to further broaden my knowledge, as well as experience a community-based role. Her goal ultimately is to take all the knowledge she acquires from working in Auckland, and eventually return home to the Far North to help tackle the rapidly increasing mental health and addictions issues.
