In addition to these roles, James has been an angel investor in over 20 startups since 2020, with a concentration on consumer-focused ventures. Previously, as Co-founder of Competitor Monitor, James played a key role in establishing a successful retail intelligence SaaS startup. James's entrepreneurial journey began with Bright Gravity, providing digital marketing services, and includes a notable period as a professional poker player, which contributes to their strategic approach in business. Educated at Durham School and Northumbria University, James holds a strong foundation in economics and business studies.
