Rima Makarem

Rima Makarem serves as a board member and trustee at LifeArc since June 2023, and has held various leadership roles including Chair at Sue Ryder and the Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Integrated Care Board since July 2021 and June 2020, respectively. Additional positions include Chair at Queen Square Private Healthcare, Lay member at the General Pharmaceutical Council, and an Expert member of the Health and Social Care Select Committee Independent Expert Panel during 2023. Previously, Rima was a Non-Executive Director and Audit Chair at the House of Commons and served as Senior Independent Director and Audit Chair at NICE. Rima earned an MBA from INSEAD, a PhD in Biochemistry from The University of Manchester, and a BA/MA in Biological Sciences from the University of Cambridge.
